A Message from LMS Director Drew Wright:
Happy June Lutherville Music School Family!
At LMS, we value not only helping students succeed as musicians, but also helping them develop important life skills like perseverance, public speaking skills, and, of course, self-confidence. In our 15 years of hosting student performances, we've noticed a trend: most students walk into their first performance nervous.
Then something amazing happens!
They get through the first note. Then the second. Then the song ends, the audience applauds, and suddenly they realize something important:
"I can actually do this!"
We believe performance is one of the most important parts of music education because music is meant to be shared. There is nothing quite like watching students step onto a stage and grow in confidence right before your eyes.
And honestly, one of the most rewarding parts is watching the parents.
Seeing families watch their child perform live for the first time, the surprise, the pride, the excitement, is something incredibly special. As a father myself now, I understand that feeling on a whole new level!
That's why performances are such a huge part of what we do at LMS.
Band Showcase and Spring Serenade
One such performance is our Band Showcase, which just happened last weekend! We want to congratulate all of the students who took the stage, especially the many brand-new bands making their live debut performances. Performing in front of an audience takes courage, and we are incredibly proud of everyone who shared their music with family, friends, and the LMS community.
We also want to congratulate this session’s Scott Fisher Award winners, Max O’Grady and Jude Gallardo, as well as our newest Band Wall of Fame inductees: No Comment and Lost Conscience.
Next up is our Spring Serenade Recital Series running June 11th–14th, and if you have not signed up yet, now is the time.
Thursday’s recital is already FULL, and remaining spots are beginning to disappear quickly.
If your student has been thinking about performing, don’t miss this opportunity. Some of the biggest confidence breakthroughs we ever see happen at recitals.

Summer Music ROCKET Program
We are excited to officially launch the Summer Music ROCKET Program.
Summer is one of the best times for students to grow musically because schedules loosen up and students have more time to really dig into their instrument, try something new, and build momentum.
The ROCKET Program allows students to add extra lessons during the summer while earning special rewards and savings along the way.
Students who complete the program will receive a limited-edition Summer Music ROCKET Trophy and A Summer Music ROCKET Wristband!
Options include:
- Add 1 extra lesson per week → first lesson FREE
- Add 2 extra lessons per week → first TWO lessons FREE
- Add 3 extra lessons per week → first THREE lessons FREE
The program will still accept enrollments through June 7th, so now is the time to jump in!

Summer Camps Are Filling Quickly
Young Rockers Camp (June 22nd–26th) is now FULL, and Piano Camp (June 29th–July 3rd) only has TWO spots remaining.
We still have openings in:
- Flute Camp (Week of July 6th)
- All-Star Rockers Camp (July 13th)
- Baltimore Rock Fest Week 1 (July 27th)
- Baltimore Rock Fest Week 2 (August 3rd)
As summer gets closer, camp spots tend to move quickly, especially once families finalize vacation schedules and summer plans. If you’ve been considering camp, now is a great time to reserve your place before availability tightens further.
Thank you for being part of such an incredible musical community. We are so proud of the hard work, courage, creativity, and growth we continue to see from our students every single month!
Have a fantastic day!
-Drew
P.S. If your student has never performed before, Spring Serenade is a wonderful place to start. You might be surprised just how much confidence can grow from a single performance.

This summer, he'll dive back into his passion for songwriting at the All-Star Rockers Camp and Baltimore Rock Fest, where he’s excited to add other originals to his growing catalog.
